I chose the Vietnamese parent. As the parent I feel ashamed and out of place when I see my children comfortable in English but I cannot understand the language. I also feel left out and excluded when my children talk among themselves in English. I feel that schools must have an inclusive curriculum where diversity must be given due importance. I have no problem if my children learn good English but I also want them to learn and respect the Vietnamese language and culture. I also want them to respect the parents and elders who might not be knowing that good English.
